Carlo Ancelotti reportedly went as far as consulting Brazil’s president over whether Neymar should be included in the national squad, turning a routine selection call into a national talking point. The debate now hinges on Neymar’s fitness and commitment, with his place in the team no longer guaranteed despite his legacy.

  1. The thing is, none of their current attackers have even an ounce of the creativity and decisiveness Neymar had even during the last years of his PSG career… But most of us don’t really know what he’s like in Santos, and it is very hard to justify taking him to US just because of his name…

But again, he’s the guy who has carried this team, sometimes even single-handedly rescuing them in multiple moments across 3 world cups. They should take him even if only as a bench player, just to pay him back for his contributions, in the off-chance he ends up winning them the cup.

Also, there is something about Brazilian attackers, they always destroy their careers but make it back in top shape for the world cups anyway.

What absolute nonsense. He’s not good enough for the squad and should be nowhere near the conversation.

Surely you just take him, it doesnt mean you have to play him, or you just give him late game subs. Saves you from a 3 month circus of is Neymar going or not, and from some fans being on your back all tournament

I only want him because Vini won’t feel he is the biggest person in the dressing room.
