Little Beans Day Care, in Garland Road in Poole, was forced to close after an Ofsted officer visited the premises on April 15 and asked parent to find alternative care instead.

One anonymous parent said the day care centre would not offer refunds as “they still have bills to and staff to pay”.

“We’ve had issues and others parents have taken their own kids out of the facility,” the person said.

They added: “The very short notice following yesterday’s inspection is very inconvenient to those working full time jobs, not to mention the fact that nurseries I have contacted today have no availability.

“Even if they did, we’d have no help with fees because Little Beans have taken this month’s funded hours money from us.”

In a letter to parents seen by the Echo, the day care centre said: “We are confident that on her return the issues raised by the Ofsted Inspector will be fully and satisfactorily rectified.

“There are only a few actions to complete and we may be able to complete these by Friday 17th April 2026.

“We will be working with the Ofsted Inspector and hope to be in a position to reopen early next week or very soon thereafter.”

The letter also stated it had “a lot of staff changes” over the last few weeks and and needed to “ensure” safeguarding policies are understood and being met, that staff are “up to date” with knowledge and training and information sharing of the children and that the setting is “working well”.

“We understand that this is an upsetting email, believe us we are all devastated and shocked, all team members work really hard and will continue to do so.”

It added: “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this suspension will cause to you.

“You will need to find alternative childcare requirements for this interim period.”

A spokesperson for Little Beans declined to comment when contacted by the Echo.
