Since Flick’s Arrival No Team Has Conceded More Goals in CL than Barca with 44. They also have now gone 15 straight CL matches without a clean sheet. A Spanish team record. [ESPN]

It’s the system it’s the way we play no single defender can ever change something that’s a fundamental flaw of the system itself
Barça fans need to understand this No part is bigger than the whole and players or our defenders are the part and the system is the whole .

For me, the offside trap is just too big an issue and very easy to beat with runners – just let defenders track the player and do man to man marking – play in a mid block at times, adapt – just be a little more pragmatic

and they scored over 301 so far. not every system is perfect but u have to polish it and add the right pieces

Live and die by the high line. Also, our defense is bad, inexperienced, or both.

Offside trap is not as successful as last year. Most games I feel we are not even playing offside trap. We need some improvements on defense.
Remember Christensen is out , Inigo left and not replaced. Araujo is not trusted a lot.
And the worst Balde and Kounde are out of form and exhausted from last year.
Another thing is in our system we do not have a proper monster cdm.

The High line and always on the attack way of playing is not working out against better teams

This club will never copy tactics of disgusting clubs like Atletico or Inter so just get over it. Barca DNA is to play expansive football, all successful teams we’ve had played risky defensive tactics. If you don’t like it, go support Arsenal or Atleti or Real Madrid where identity and style mean nothing and they do whatever terrorball is needed in the moment.

I got downvoted so much when I brought that up, the way we concede goals is systematic and we can just rely on “players just need to run better and press more” it doesn’t work. And the problem is that he probably doesn’t see that, like I 100% sure Arsenal will destroy Atletico because they are so bad, but that the thing you don’t need to be a good team to score against Barca and don’t need to be super defensive team to not concede much from Barca just a decent defence will be enough, you can play all game draw by the end this running boys will be gassed and you will just counter them with their high line. And the only reason he says he will continue is because it “worked before”, well now it doesn’t and you can’t win Bruges. Last season we had the easiest path to the final, and guess what PSG proved that by beating Inter, cause they are shit and Barca couldn’t win them. The system is trash.

that happens when our defense is the worst of the UCL.
Balde, Eric, Araujo, Gerard, Cubarsi.
All those guys are not good enough.

This is how Flick sets up his teams to play. It won’t change; he’s already given interviews about it. This is his way of seeing football: attacking, attacking, and attacking. IT WON’T CHANGE.
Either Barcelona gives this coach players who make it even easier to control the ball and apply effective pressure in the attacking third, or this will continue to happen at this frequency until the decision is made to remove Flick.
I personally love this way the team plays and I’ve bought into the idea. Every team will have a weakness to exploit, and ours will be this high defensive line and this defense that will be caught off guard by being positioned further up the field.

Its about time we drop the high line señor Flick

Our system is high risk high reward. If only we managed to have an efficient front line and reliable backside, we would be unstoppable in Europe.
Don’t let these Twitter tacticos dull your judgment with their idiotic takes on Flicks system. I would rather we play like this than play like Arsenal.

Its supposed to be like that. We outscore opponents, thats the system.

We still have financial issues and an overall inexperienced team. I remember the past few seasons were full of constant pathetic performances so I am still grateful to flick and the team that they play such good attacking football now.
However, I do think flick should be more adaptable and fans should keep their expectations realistic and wait for a good transfer window.

I do not have a problem with conceding goals due to high line because of some tactic but when you concede the same way over and over again without any mitigation plan, that is just brain dead unacceptable. Also flicks system is heavily dependent on out scoring the opponent. It’s not like Barca stopped producing quality chances, they still create a lot of chances but it’s the fact that Barca really lacks a clinical finisher up top. Cant rely on Rashford/Ferran/Lewandowski. Lamine is good but I see him more as a chance creator rather than a scorer. Another problem flick’s system is while it produces some of the best football, constant pressing really wears the players down within the first half which makes it easy for the opponent later in the second half. I am also not so much impressed with his player rotation. I still believe in flick but he needs a different dimension. You just cannot be too stubborn when it comes to football. Tricks are found out and you have to constantly counter them.

How about goals scored
Because our starting CBs are mid table at best.
High line nowadays can’t win CL. Accept or not
