How did you find and recruit Edouard Mendy for Chelsea?
What do you think was the best save of your career? If you had to pick one? In terms of difficulty.
Did you offer to stay an ease transition when the new ownership took over, or did they say from the get go, we don’t want you and Marina in the club in any capacity?
How did you study Bayern players for penalties?
Can someone ask him what strain of mushrooms the recruitment team have before sitting down an deciding transfers of another 4 20 year old wingers that’s re the same level we already have but no GK,CB,ST or back up full backs
How confident are you with this new ownership?
Fans are upset and have lost their patience. Me included.
Funniest player you played with?
For Petr.’c How did having a helmet on impact your style of goalkeeping? You’re an inspiration!!
Hi Petr! I’m so excited to speaking to you. Since a child I’ve always been in love with goalkeeping and have always regarded you as my hero.
My question: what do you think was your strongest suit during your long stint at Chelsea? Was it shot stopping, penalties, commanding the box, or something else?
Another question: beyond drumming and hockey what else do you enjoy as a pastime?
Everyone credits you for your intelligence, who would you say is the most intelligent player you’ve played against and why?
Which current chelsea player do you think has the most potential?
Favourite food?
Hi Petr, just want to start off by saying you’re the reason I became a Chelsea fan and played as a GK since I was 9. I remember watching my first football match as a child and seeing the GK on the blue team wearing headgear, thinking it was the coolest thing, and became a fan for that reason.
My question, how were you able to go back to being a stand out GK after your accident? I’d think a lot of players after having a life changing accident like that might regress and play a bit more cautiously, but you took it up a level and became one of if not the best GK in the world. What were some of the challenges you faced coming back and how did you overcome them?
You’ve been a massive inspiration for me as a footballer and I even wore a scrum cap whenever I played as a child just to be like my favourite keeper.
I was gutted to see you leave in June 2022 so my question is, could you see yourself coming back to Chelsea as a coach or director at all and if so, do you think it is likely?
Also, slightly unrelated to Chelsea I apologise but as an Oxfordshire resident and someone who saw you play for the Oxford city stars, what is your opinion of the Oxford ice rink and the city of Oxford as a whole?
Thank you very much!!
What would you change in Chelsea today to make it a top club again ?
You are one of the greatest GKs of the modern era.
Which are the best goals scored against you? For instance,
A) Ronaldinho (Barcelona) – 2005, Champions League
B) Papiss Cisse (Newcastle) – 2012, Premier League
C) Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – 2017, Premier League
D) Or any other
Do you prefer Chelsea or Arsenal (I’m sorry)?
Do you think Sanchez is good enough to be our main gk?
I’ll avoid the questions about the current ownership as you’ll probably not want to answer them.
Are there any roles within the club that go unnoticed that deserve some praise?
As fans it would be nice to know about the people that work behind the scenes that don’t attract the headlines and often go unnoticed.
And to go into it a bit deeper, are there people within the club you’ve grown to appreciate more now that you’ve retired that you maybe didn’t as a player?
I know a popular one for players are the cooks of course.
Petr – just wanted to say you are my favourite player of all time. Growing up playing competitively I would always wear a helmet as keeper because I wanted to be like you 🙂
What are some of the little things you miss about football? Things that are not really talked about, but things that are felt
LMAO this AMA has basically become an anti-BlueCo protest.
Hi big petr –
You were DoF at CFC. What was the hardest decision you had to make as DoF?
Did you ever get tips from Peter “The Cat” Bonetti. If so share some insights?
Petr, what’s your drum setup?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO NOW FOR THE CURRENT STATE OF THE CLUB ,
Hello Petr,
First of all may I start with saying you are the best Chelsea goalkeeper in recent history. We need you right now!
Now for the question what is your most memorable game and why?
What was going through your mind when we conceded the penalty to Bayern in extra time of the 2012 UCL final ?
Also I just want to say, thank you for all the memories.
Hi Petr, what is your favorite song to perform on the drums?
Hello Petr,
You obviously had a great career in football and you are considered one of the best GKs in football (and the best GK in Chelsea history), but also you really like ice hockey.
My question I would like to ask you is this: If you could travel back in time would you rather have a career as an ice hockey goalie or would you still choose to be a footballer?
Now that Hungary has a PM called Peter Magyar, when are you planning to start your political carreer in Czechia?
Petr, you’re a Chelsea legend, and thanks for doing this AMA. I was wondering from your perspective, what type of goalkeeper do you think Chelsea needs today? We were known for having world class keepers from you, Courtois, and Mendy, but seem to be struggling in that department now. Should we go for a strict shot stopper, or one that is balanced and can play with his feet?
The discussion at the moment with Chelsea focuses on the lack of “experience” in the team, but the first PL winning team that you, JT, Lamps, Didier etc were in didn’t have lots of experience either – with the exception of Makelele, it was actually quite a young team. However it was a team of very focused , professional characters. So is it an “experience” issue right now at Chelsea or is it the missing the right type of characters? Or is the leadership that comes from a manager like Jose the missing ingredient?
