Speaking about the incident, a Oadby and Wigston police officer said: “Throwing stones off a roof seemed like such a good idea, until consequences arrived in the form of PCSO Dom and PC Catherine.
“Antisocial behaviour comes in many forms, but when people are injured or property is damaged it crosses the line into criminality.
“Diverting young people away from crime is essential to avoid them falling into a life of crime or being exploited, but with peer pressure an ever-present danger in luring children into crime it is becoming more common for the police to deal with young people ‘just having fun’ at the expense of others.
“Parents/carers, schools, local authorities… we all have a part to play. Kids… don’t succumb to peer pressure.”
