Arteta again described the situation as an "incredible opportunity" and reinforced that he wants to achieve something that "hasn’t been done in the history of the club"

  1. Thia man bring us here, he has my confidence. Winning is hard but we’re near thanks to him

In a way, that might be the problem. Mikel is constantly running around the touchline screaming and looking out of control. Does that convey to the players a sense of composure?

  3. Stop making these type of battle cries publicly and consistently showing up spineless. If professional players require public appeal, I worry about their mentality.

    Stop saying “people”.

It’s tiring to see the buck being passed onto fans when it’s his tactics and the players who have let us down.

Also, fuck the club for asking for a commitment to a 5%+ increase in my season tickets days before we crash out of 2 comps and put the prem on the line.

  5. Proceeds to implement the most disgusting low block hoofball tactics the world has ever seen at the Etihad.

  6. Sick of hearing Arteta speak at this point. He is a class A bullshitter and can drone on about ‘fire’ and ‘passion’ but will still insist on making the team play like frightened schoolchildren, home and away.

  7. Big disconnect forming between Arteta and the fan base.

This was never about desire. I’ve personally never doubted anyone’s desire. In fact, they probably want it a bit too much. So much so that it’s paralyzing their ability to take any risk at all.

Something tells me the players are going to double down on caution and conservatism “fighting really hard” to grind out a narrow margin of victory.

And honestly, with the current squad we have available, that might be only the sensible thing to do now.

    I’m prepared to be disappointed.

I mean, I’m all for it. But it’s hard to get fire when everything we do on the pitch is about control, slow methodical build up…

Nothing screams fire more than taking more than a minute to play a long throw-in.

Honestly, it’s tiring now. I wish he said sorry and that we are shit, and we will try to do better. But this motivational bullshit is tiring now

  10. It does seem like they’ve been sleepwalking lately so hope this lights a fire under them.

  11. > Get up early, have an early breakfast, bring your lunch, bring your dinner, it has to be a big day!

You have seen this before. I have seen enough of this guy’s cringey bs. 24-25: PSG-Bournemouth-PSG fixtures. Before that: Bayern-Villa-Bayern fixtures. Never learn.

And then proceed to play slow side to side football with no urgency and or intricate fast passing to break the opponent’s defense

Everyone so negative, im fully confident and support everyone until the end of the season. After that we see what to do

  14. I know it’s annoying that he keeps mentioning the fans, but we do have an effect, especially those who get to go to the games. It’s one of those things where, the more annoying and anger-inducing getting told to get behind the team is, the more likely it is to be important in order to turn things around.

  15. “I want to see” implies he’s seen absolutely nothing of note in training then

Sound bites like this don’t win games. Coach the team to play more forward thinking football and create chances

  17. He needs to stop bringing the people into this. If you play like fire, the fans will have fire. Just focus on urself and ur players Mik

  18. Just win the games mate these soundbites have gotten tiring when we see the same Havertz at 10, Zubi running in treacle in the midfield etc.
    Win the goddam games
