The flyover is part of celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the first ever Spitfire flight.
Spitfires.com is commemorating the milestone with a full circumnavigation of mainland Britain, culminating in a final anniversary leg on Friday, April 17.
Organisers have now confirmed that this last flight will depart from Exeter at 10am (weather dependent) before heading east towards Southampton Airport.
As it makes its way along the coast, the Spitfire will pass over Dorset, giving residents the chance to look skywards and witness the historic aircraft in flight.
During the flight K5054 will meet up alongside for most of the flight with the RAF BBMF-C-47 Dakota.
The journey will conclude at Southampton Airport, the very airfield where the prototype Spitfire K5054 first flew 90 years ago.
K5054 was the original Supermarine Spitfire – the aircraft that would go on to become a symbol of British resistance during the Battle of Britain.
Designed by R J Mitchell, the Spitfire played a crucial role in defending the UK during the summer of 1940 and remains the country’s most iconic fighter aircraft.
