I just got out of a university tutorial, and that was my exact reaction at seeing the score

We cannot consistently score goals in the league. I thought the Atleti game would be a turning point for us in the league but alas.

  3. You’d have to say being six points clear of us that Leeds are now safe. Even at three points clear there’s an argument to be made that they were safe but definitely at six points clear. The only three teams that we can catch are all hitting some form and are capable of beating any team in the league and we’re so, so far from being in that place.

  4. This is what I meant in another thread about how things are just going against us now. Every variable like this, if a certain outcome spells bad news for us, you can bet it’ll happen now.

  5. Jeez. Was really hoping/coping that we could drag Leeds into it with us. Was already a must win game against them but now we really need 3 wins minimum from our next 3 just to have a shot. Fucking tragic

  6. r/Championship will not go easy on us next season. The crumble memes will be out in force!

Nah na na na nah nah nah nah nah

    Going down going down

    We are going down

    🥲🥲🥲

  8. Anytime I watch any other team battling relegation this season. I see a team fighting with everything they’ve got.

I do NOT see the same with us – and ultimately that’s why I’ve believed in our relegation since a month ago.

I’m not a pessimist and don’t want to see us go down, but there’s so much evidence in every fucking game that goes by….

  9. They’re showing way more fight and general cohesion than we’ve shown in as long as we can all remember. They almost had a third… They deserve it. We don’t. As someone else said, its easier to accept we’re going down. I have, it is what it is. The skipper is off, and has played his last game for us and is also the worst captain I can ever remember us having. We as fans don’t deserve it, but the owners do.

Fantastic stadium, large fan base, huge buyout cost reduction after a season in the Championship, sleeping giant etc..

Within 2 years you guys are going to be the next Middle Eastern plaything.

  11. Thought people said Leeds were the team who would crumble and we’d overtake them?

Nice for their fans to see some fight I guess.

Edit downvoter must be one of them people then, you were wrong 😂.

  12. If you didn’t believe it before today, you will definitely believe it now haha

  13. It’s a kick in the teeth but holds absolutely no bearing over us as we will not win another game this season.

  14. Anyone who looked at Leeds’ performances this season or their run-in and thought they were our competition is an idiot. Realistically the rest of the season is about trying to be less crap than West Ham

If we’re staying up, it wasn’t going to be at the expense of Leeds. It’s us, West Ham, or Forest – so non-issue this tbh.

I too, am jealous of clubs with the mentality to handle a relegation battle.

  17. Just in case you worried – Leeds have a HT XG of 1.96 (so a fully deserved score line).

Spurs have had a XG of that (in a full 90 mins) only twice this season in the prem (1st game vs Burnley and also vs Brentford).

  18. Mate, we’re going down. We deserve to go down. We begged for a trophy for 17 years then sacked the man who broke our curse, thus creating a new one. The man deserved at least the fall. That decision broke the dressing room.

Then we hired an uninspiring manager that wanked our rival incessantly in video sessions and never formed a connection to our players or our fans.

Then the board sat firm in January as results dipped. They signed a player in the position we had the most depth. We also sold our leading scorer the previous season and didn’t replace him. Oh and we sold our leading scorer the season before that in the summer and didn’t replace him.

Spurs deserve this. Not the fans, but the players and the board deserve relegation. They were too arrogant. They didn’t respect the footballing pyramid.

We should petition for 10 lucky fans to be sent onto the field for the last 6 games of the season. Each should get paid an average team wage for the final weeks. Results won’t change but at least people who love the team will be pocketing the paycheck instead of those bums we send out to lose every week

Not to get too conspiracy theorist-y, but it is in the interest of the rest of the Big 6 for us to go down. Fire sale on assets, elimination of a direct financial, if not sporting, competitor.

  21. When you are relegated what can go against you, will go against you in ways you can never imagine. Like Utd. suddenly having a man sent off,for something less violent than pigtails being tugged in a playground. The unseen forces of rough justice are coalescing around and against us. We can’t fight it. Just accept our punishment and come back stronger.
