Why did we even buy Norgaard if we don’t plan to use him ever ffs. Zubi has been looking average since January for this reason.

Why buy the captain of another PL team if you’re only going to play him for—checks notes—61 fucking minutes

  3. Zubimendi and rice both on 3700ish minutes in all comps

They are going to be dead by the world club

  4. Martin with just 13 starts. We could have used Norgaard to relieve some of those minutes off Rice and Zubi.

norgaard 61 vs declan and zubi over 2k. and we wonder why our midfield is knackered (we also didn’t get a merino replacement)

Norgaard playing 61 minutes is absolutely criminal. Once again Arteta’s refusal to play some players is costing us

  7. The Rice and Zubi minutes are absolutely damning. Not rotating them/finding sustainable alternatives to the double pivot is probably one of the main factors for the impending/in-progress collapse this season. Arteta “always playing his favorites” is and never was sustainable.

Easy to forget that Norgaard was a very competent PL for years and a captain too. It’s criminal that he hasn’t been used more to avoid Zubi’s burn out.

Big surprise that important players play almost all games.

None of the players besides Rice and Zubimendi have been overworked this season. Maybe Timber to an extent. Maybe some of them are tired from previous seasons.

But this season, we have had so many injuries that Arteta has been forced to rotate his players constantly. Every outfield Arsenal player besides the two CMs has missed significant chunks of the season.

I don’t know if this sub has no idea what a normal spread of minutes looks like but this is pretty normal for a top level player. 3500-3700 minutes per season is pretty typical across all comps, especially if you go deep in multiple cups.

Liverpool already have 10 outfield players over 2800 minutes in all comps. City have 5 (though 6 if you count Semenyo who is right there). We have 8, but the same number of 3000+ minute players as City. And City’s top minute players like Haaland and O’Reilly are also in the best form right now.

Is Pep a moron for running Nico O’Reilly into the ground? He’s the only reason they haven’t already been knocked out of the title race and probably the FA cup as well and he’s played more minutes than basically any player in the top 5 who isn’t a goalkeeper.

Hey what do you know. The players with the most minutes seems to be the ones that were not at there best last game.

I’m sure norgaard was brought in to close up shops or rest players when we went 2-0,3-0 but we really haven’t been up that many times

What stands out to me is that every outfield player is under 30 apart from Trossard and Norgaard (who’s barely played).

  13. I would like to see Norgaard and MLS starting the next match, as it is better to repeat the plan A over and over again

  14. The balance may be a little off, but Liverpool, City, Villa, and United all have at least one player who has more minutes than our most used player at the same position. So we can’t just look at the minutes and cry that Arteta plays them too much. It definitely isn’t that simple.

Zubimendi in his first season in a much more physical and demanding league playing the most minutes out of any outfield player and people are surprised why he looks a shell of himself. We all saw what he’s capable of start of the season.

If only we had a prem proven former captain on the bench as backup… oh wait!
