"Sorry because we didn't deserve to lose the game. We played a good game, maybe not enough to win but we were unlucky in a few situations in the first half.”
"I cannot say anything to players because they gave their best in terms of attitude and spirit. We can play better for sure and you can feel better. We have to work on that. My work is not so much on the pitch because they are good guys and I am sorry for them. I want to give them confidence in what they need.”
"Tactically, we played a good first half. With the ball and without the ball. We don't have confidence to play great football but we did what we have been working on this week. The players can play better if they are feeling confident."
On keeping spirits high: "I can be a big brother, father, they don't need a coach. They don't need to improve football. They can play better and they will play better once we reach a different level of confidence."
On looking forward to the challenge: "Absolutely, I'm sure if we are able to win a game then everything will change."

Must be on crack if we played well
I think what’s clear to him is mental midgets with a massive gap in the middle of the park to control our pace and direction.
It’s insane how much we’ve lacked since Dembele and Eriksen. Kane and Son covered so much of our weakness in the middle of the park.
Richy not having any spice on his shots killed us. He did all the hard work and just put out 3 pussy ass efforts
Regardless of the result or anything else that happened on the pitch, it does absolutely suck that the only goal scored on us was a stupid deflection goal
With how limited we are in attack, I think RDZ needs to use a very attacking midfield combo as RKM, Richy and Tel are not creating much danger leaving Solanke very isolated.
I would want Grey or maybe Biss at the 6. Either Sarr or Bergvall at the and start Xavi at the 10
I don’t have any complaints considering all he’s saying is that the players are defeated mentally but have the ability to play ball in the nicest way possible. We’ve all agreed that we don’t need a stern brutal manager, all we need is someone who’s nice and brings the team together and that’s what he’s doing.
>if we are able to win a game
And therein lies the problem..
I do get what he’s saying though. We need a momentum swing. But I’m worried it’s not coming
play.Xavi.fucking.Simons
“if we’re able to win a game, everything will change”?
We won a game against Athletic Madrid a few weeks ago. We looked great (as we did in the draw with the Bin Dippers the week before). Nothing changed after that.
All I hear are fucking excuses. Every time
FFS. He’s got this the complete wrong way around. The confidence is downwind of the technical quality through the spine of the team, especially midfield.
You are just destroying their confidence by not linking up the likes of Xavi, Bergvall and Gray.
They need the work on the pitch, they need the tactics. Then put your arm around them and big them up.
It’s no good trying to foster confidence among a bunch of cloggers who can’t play pass and move footy.
Gray at CM. Xavi at 10. A runner next to Gray, ideally Bergvall but pick most on form. A 9 who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. Runners high and wide for when the midfield breaks the press. Whoever our best back four are.
Stacking the side with steady tacklers to keep things tight is the EXACT same fucking mistake as our other managers. Don’t play players out of position e.g Bergval at 10. Keep the formation simple.
His comments are spot on for me. Much better post match presser than any of his two predecessors. You can see that he knows the game inside out.
I think he’s the right man to restore confidence but don’t think he has enough time.
Our mentality when we go one down is the biggest issue. We’re beaten as soon as we go behind.
He’s right- we win a game and it’s a different story. I even think if Richy had put one of the early chances away, it may have been a different story.
This effin guy managed to say that shit about greenwood either to stupidity or bravado but can’t say anything about that ref’s performance fuck right off
The players are sort of trying but mostly just waiting for the nightmare to be over and then see what their agent can do. It’s been this way for a while. I don’t feel any confidence that RDZ’s nice Dad act will change it.
I don’t think you can fault the players desire and attitude today but it was a performance devoid of any quality going forwards
I hope he can keep us up in The Championship next season, it’ll be a real challenge.
Problem is that confidence isn’t going to come, the players are shot to pieces. Absolute bunch of losers.
Richy looked like he had pillows taped to his feet when hitting them shots
I can’t be the only one that recognises that the players are just shit? Outside of winning a few games in Europe we were 17th last year and 18th now. That’s a fair reflection on where this crop is, bar the long term injuries.
The players are sub standard premier league players who scraped a cup win against the worst United side in recent memory.
I think he’s right. Not saying we have a team of sleeping giants but collectively they’re good enough to be 17th+ – we all talk about the investment, wages etc, but ours dwarf the teams we’re scrapping with down there. We have enough talent, on paper, to stay up. It’s there, we’ve seen their capabilities.
The confidence however, the belief, it’s just not there. The only time we’ve seen it this year is second leg of Madrid and that’s because we were already out, we’d accepted it and the pressure was gone and we actually just relaxed and played.
In the league, we’re scared of losing, scared of going behind now which has happened so much and if/when it happens, the heads just drop.
We do not play like we think we can or deserve to win a game. The longer it’s gone on, the worse it’s got. If we can get a win, more will follow, I do agree with that. It’s just, there’s so few games left.
I think things have happened this season that’s drained us into fresh lows and brought relegation into the mix. Frank was a small team manager with small team mentality. I think that did a number on many of them. Son is a big miss, not just in terms of his football but I think the confidence and mentality he brought to the dressing room in these sorts of moments.
how about giving us confidence, rdz, by not playing gallagher and playing xavi instead.
>On keeping spirits high: “I can be a big brother, father, they don’t need a coach. They don’t need to improve football. They can play better and they will play better once we reach a different level of confidence.”
“I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed.”
Do we not have a single winger in the u21s that might play without fear. I can’t watch Muani and Richy on the wings anymore – it is brutal.
They once talked about Muani being the next Henry. They must have meant Henry fucking Hoover – falls over when you need it to stay upright.
Says nothing about the referees… gutless
I’m sure if we just won that Palace game things would be different. Thanks Mickey
Tactically bad for both halves. They progressed easily with the ball for most of the game. We struggled to progress at all for most of the game.
Some real unfortunate things went against us. That can’t be denied, but the absolute lack of urgency and tempo the second half was embarrassing. I know a lot of people are puzzled by Gallagher over Xavi (Gallagher was a ghost), Xavi simply has not shown any endeavor outside of the Atleti match. I think he’ll get used to the level (if we stay up). I don’t see how Solanke continues to see the pitch. Should be Richy, but even RKM impacts from the 9 at times. These players, man.
I think I have heard the same from Ange, Frank, Tudor and now Rdz……
I am happy with RDZ appointment but not playing Xavi/Tel and playing 3 strikers is similar shit to what Tudor was doing. The only difference today was no back 5
The only positives out of the game today.
1. Kinskys distribution is a massive step up on Vicarios
That’s it
He’s right about confidence… how did we go from a euro winning coach, who had players willing to do anything for him, to this situation. I really hope RDZ can get it across the line, because they way he talks is something that could take us into next season with a bit of optimism (if we stay up)
Definitely on the right track with this mindset, the players are just getting confidence from Tudor and definitely affected with another change in manager
If Roberto is able to empathize with that, definitely can help the team to stay up and not go down
We definitely have the quality as shown from previous games just need that confidence and abit of luck
One thing he need to know that it is still a war and cannot be too relaxed
