> Cristian Romero had to go off in the second half with a lower leg injury.

> After high-velocity contact with Kinsky, Romero’s knee fell into a valgus position, which brings concern for an MCL injury.

> In rare occasions, the ACL can be vulnerable, but is usually associated with an MCL injury. The best-case scenario would be a bone bruise or a low-grade MCL injury.

> Grade 2 MCL: 4–6 weeks
> Grade 3 MCL: 8+ weeks

Tore mine twice, second time was very similar to this playing football but it was someone’s knee, not their head lol
If it’s an MCL tear that’s him done for the season regardless of grade

We look better without him

Only cares about the world cup anyway, let’s do him and us a favour and just put him on a plane to the US now.
Downvoted of course, keep defending players that are the reason we’re in this mess if you want. But I won’t.

Don’t cry for me Argentina. I think those tears were ‘shit I’m gonna miss the world cup’ sad for him

How the FUCK did VAR not check Brobbey’s push? he caused this injury

Would rather Danso started the rest of the season so not much loss.

I did this a few weeks ago playing basketball. Knee buckled inwards, and MRI showed a high grade MCL, ACL and meniscus tear.
If it’s just the MCL and not a rupture, he should be fine for the World Cup. If there’s any ACL involvement he’s screwed.

Good. Fuck him.

All of the hate he’s getting for being upset is CRAZY to me. I know our priority is staying afloat, but it’s possible for people to care about multiple things. Him being gutted that he’s probably missing the world cup doesn’t mean he’s not also feeling the spurs situation. You would be shattered too if the culmination of your sporting career was in jeopardy because of a stupid off the ball shove. Just as he can have multiple perspectives, we can as fans both expect more from him as our captain and feel for him as a human. Do better.

Don’t worry, wasn’t a card worthy foul. No intent to injure whatsoever.

Well rehabbing in championship division is a silver lining for him ..
Him sitting on the bench for the rest of the season watching us play is going to be frustrating and entertaining

Never heard of a club experience so many ACL and MCL, what is that now?
An injury where usually a team gets one of these every 4-5 seasons and we’ve gotten 5 in a year and a half. Absolutely crazy stuff and probably a billion to 1 probability of happening.
Cookielad14 on
I would NOT be surprised if that was the last we’ve seen of him in a Spurs shirt. He won’t wanna come back and rattle that before the WC.

It’s not even seeing a light at the end of the tunnel turning out to be an oncoming train anymore, it’s just lying on the tracks and getting torn to bits. Our luck has been incredible this year. We’ve been terrible but it’s just one thing after another.
Also, the ref and Brobbey are a pair of cunts.

If this proves to the case, Spurs should sue the League if heads do not roll. This is utterly fucking disgraceful, and Spurs not being very good should not be a get out of jail card they get to use to look the other way and gaslight us into pretending this doesn’t matter. This is a culmination of season long refereeing that has actively contributed to damaging this club’s chances of remaining in this league, and is now leading to players being injured.
yiddoboy on
Of course it is. Any innocuous collision where everyone else gets up fine is a major injury for us. Then, just as he’s on the cusp of returning, he’ll be injured again and need a further operation. Getting used to it now.

If he has – can he sure Bobbey for reckless behaviour in causing him to miss the World Cup? It’s not like it was even a challenge gone wrong – he just shoves him in the back. If that happened on the street and caused injury there would be a case to answer

This is all on a referee that refused to give a second yellow card when they were deserved. The type of challenges in that game were abysmal.

I don’t think you walk off like that after you tear your MCL. So hopefully, this is a knee-jerk reaction.
