  1. In terms of talent, he’s definitely up there with our most talented players, now whether or not that talent will materialize is up to him. Will he ever reach KDB and such levels?

I hope we keep him for many more years is all I’ll say to this point 🩵

A lot of City’s current players still have a lot to prove in big games, before they should even be considered a place next to some of the clubs modern legends. So, until they do …

  4. He is for sure an exciting player to watch but let’s not get ahead of ourselves like some other fan bases.

  5. He’s already my favorite City player after KDB. I wish we could snatch him to Madrid one day. He’ll do wonders for our right wing.

  6. What worries me about Cherki is that after City go 2 or 3 up, he switches off, whereas the world’s best players, like KDB, Rodri, Yaya or Silva (B and D) NEVER stop working hard, right until the last whistle. If he can fix that switch in his head, he’ll be a real world beater.

  7. What is current era?

I honestly think Balotelli was one of the most gifted City players. His head just wasn’t there.

Man. The Foden erasure is nuts. Man has had a rough stretch of form but class is forever.

I think he has massive potential and plenty of room to grow. I do often like what I see from him.

Yep. He ran the show for city today. One of the best transfer deals ever. Just look at his assist for marc guehi goal.

Far too early – needs to stop the showboating every now and then – but maturity and Pep will sort that out. But looks like a fantastic player. KDB was unique and David Silva was a magician – he has some big shoes to fill – but I’m very optimistic…

  12. The shout outs for Foden are understood. Foden is class and I agree people have written him off far too soon. OP said gifted though. For me that means effortless brilliance and Cherki has that. I think prime Foden is better than Cherki right now but it feels like Foden works to be so good (not a bad thing) Cherki works to control his intrusive thoughts. You can argue which is better but the only real answer is “the one that wins the game”. No player in any team compares to prime KDB right now though.

TLDR; based on my own definition, yes, Cherki is our most “gifted”. It doesn’t make him our best player yet but he has the potential to be.
