The Telegraph: Ridiculous for Chelsea to drop Enzo Fernandez with season on line | As for Chelsea, their US private-equity ownership does not like any criticism from the inside, especially when there is plenty from the outside. It may be the kind of thing that affects investor confidence.

Strongly agree
Maybe Enzo should’ve shut up then
Clubs still have to have standards.
If there were no consequences for a player talking how Enzo has then every player knows they can get away with murder.
I don’t actually like Rosenior but I respect the decision he’s made and that he’s stuck to his guns.
– In this case, Fernández is on a long-term Chelsea contract and likely does not feel his wages are at market rate any longer
– The club do not seem to be making much progress, and there may be a Champions League qualification bonus at stake
– they have forgiven Marc Cucurella for some similar misgivings expressed on international duty suggests that the Fernández situation is, in private, rather more fraught than anyone is admitting.
– the notion of dropping him shows just how seriously Chelsea take internal dissent, whatever the effect on the pitch.
– As ever with Chelsea post-2022, there seems to be a disconnect with the history that preceded that change of ownership.
– Fernández himself effectively went on strike at Benfica to force his move to Chelsea.
– Moisés Caicedo missed training at Brighton in the countdown to his departure for £115m to Chelsea in August 2023
– There is much Chelsea would like to say about Fernández but will not do so for fear of inflaming the situation.
– some of those with a move to Chelsea in prospect will feel compelled to say or do things to speed the progress of a transfer
I understand, but it would not have happened when you stop buying stars after the failed signings of Koulibaly and Sterling
And, not hiring potential managers like Potter or Rosenior, at least Maresca won a trophy before.
So why Cucu not get dropped, he said pretty much the same thing about Barca
He didn’t criticize ownership (directly at least), he expressed that he wasn’t committed to the badge. If you don’t wanna be here, we’ve got plenty of other players that do and can eat up those minutes.
Not the first time Enzo said or did something so dumb it disrupted the whole club. Dude deserved what he got. Fofana should’ve caught a ban for driving like an idiot. Need accountability.
Hahaha what a circus
Enzo doesn’t even start for Rayo vallecano
Has this been massively overblown or what
Chelsea fans a few weeks ago: “I don’t blame our top players if they start to complain and want to leave”
Chelsea fans when a top player goes on and does that: *shocked pikachu face*
yeah pack up and sell pls.
It’s actually a shoot. They manufactured a reason for us to play a weaker team against City. Arsenal can’t win the league.
Every single fan and commentator making noise about this dropping Enzo pisses me off. Those are the adults who hate to see a parent scold their child, then go to their homes and scold theirs. You want a team to be unable to do what they deem best because you want someone you like to play. If tomorrow he does it again you loud mouths will say the manager should’ve done something about it last time.
I know people hate the owners as they should, but you can’t hate every single decision the boss makes.
ive seen people defending Mount for years after he left for more money despite posting a fucking humiliating, pre-recorded robotic goodbye video and then releasing the “home, Mase” video because he was “propa Chels”
then when players get fed lies, they see us being so ambitious that we buy Delap, Shittens and Garnacho after finally making CL football then making a manager that gave us the CWC LEAVE ON HIS OWN because he fucking hates working with the owners everyone gets offended and hurt because they dont want to play in the Conference League with Linkedin Liam at the wheel with no shirt sponsor for the 4th season in a row
Maresca RAGEQUIT because he had enough. “yes man” Potter shit on the owners after he left. another “yes man” Poch couldn’t work in these conditions. every one of them has been slandered to the ground and people here are like “yeah fuck him”
this fanbase deserves what these owners have been doing to the club. genuinely. full of naive, petty mouthbreathers
oh and waiting for the inevitable “Enzo was right”, “Enzo should have played” and “Clearlake out” after we get inevitably battered this evening
Enzo asking for higher wages when he didn’t even improve much since we’ve signed him, can’t wait for that overrated fraud to be sold jfc
I have never seen such clamor for such an average player.
A midfielder who can’t run, can’t build up, can’t pass, cant control the game, no physique, can’t dribble, can’t shoot.
Coaches have to play full backs in midfield ahead of him.
Get rid at the earliest possible opportunity.
Bs journalism. Cucurella was the one who actually criticised the ownership’s decisions and he wasn’t punished at all. This prick simply abandoned the ship.
BlueCo Out.
