He can learn from cancelo. He is a decade older unlikely to stay for long. As for fans, they are idiots. 1 good game and glazing the player as “best in his position” and 1 bad game and he is “not good enough for barca”. He can improve and hopefully he is working on that. Thats all.

His crossing after dribbling his man is atrocious. Hasn’t improved in that regard in 2-3 years. When the ball goes to Cancelo there’s expectation of an imminent attack, with Balde its a back pass or dribbling in to the center. Only thing good about him is defensively being very solid.

You took the words out of my mouth. His pace is insane. But should really work on his 1v1 dribbling skills and passing . Tbh Gerard Martin has better crossing and passing rang compared to balde. Balde just runs with the ball. You just need to stand in his lane and you can easily take the ball off him.

Honestly, this fanbase can be so toxic at times. Balde is still young, show some trust in him and give him some time, he will improve. Cancelo is probably a top 3 offensive fullback in Europe. Any other fullback not named Nuno mendes or Hakimi would look shit in front of Cancelo while going forward.

hes got the potential but he needs to do something fresh rather than those monotonous moves like double touch , acceleration burst , and that spineless crossing , cancelo gives variation in his moves , he can learn from cancelo

This season? Dude is right, he hasn’t improved at all and it’s a pity because he was and still is such a talent. But you can’t be a top WB and not be able to cross or have such a weak right foot, not at this level. I’d be spending an extra hour after each training session to improve these two things, which are not that hard in the first place.

I don’t think it’s hopeless. We have seen what he is capable of. He can dribble (i still remember that Bayern game we lost with Xavi) and carry forward. He can and has put in some great crosses last season and before. Maybe it’s a confidence issue or just lack of playtime. Hope he is back. Same with Kounde.

It is very reactionary, social media fans can be quick to classify a player over one performance and never bother to revise that even if the players shows improvement.
It’s good competition I agree but Balde still offers us so much as everybody will come to see. Cancelo will definitely have his bad days too and we’ll all be there to see it too. Hopefully the reaction is better than what they are doing to Balde

it is, but it’s also partially true. Balde’s dribbling, pace, recovery is very good. He’s a cheatcode in huild up because he can carry the ball so well.
Overall defensively he’s not bad either imo.
The problem is he’s sorta lost in the attack. His passing ehh, his crossing and cutbacks are fucking atrocious and I find it crazy that he hasn’t improved on it in the last few years.
Even gerard martin is a better passer than him. That’s all he has to do too. Just be better at passing and crossing. And he’ll be world class

For all the good things he brings, Flick is HORRIBLE at rotations and match-management..
..and now on top of that, balde, casado and roony being PUBLICLY unhappy should preoccupy him.. if he fully looses the locker or he doesn’t win at atletico, next year will be a disaster.
