Leeds United supporters have voted Gabriel Gudmundsson as their AMT Player of the Month for March, after a series of influential displays across league and cup competition.
The Swedish international featured in three of the Whites’ four fixtures during the month, playing a total of 216 minutes and delivering a decisive contribution in the club’s FA Cup Fifth Round victory over Norwich City. Gudmundsson scored and assisted in the emphatic 3-0 win at Elland Road, underlining his importance to the side.
March proved to be a mixed period for Leeds United overall, with that cup triumph accompanied by a goalless draw against Crystal Palace and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Sunderland.
Individually, Gudmundsson’s all-round numbers reflected his consistency and work rate. Alongside his goal and assist, he completed 68 accurate passes, created two chances and registered 158 touches. Defensively, he contributed four tackles, six clearances and an interception, while also making eight recoveries and winning 16 duels.
His form at club level was mirrored on the international stage, where he represented Sweden during the March break. Gudmundsson played a key role in play-off victories over Ukraine and Poland, helping Sweden secure qualification for this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
In the fan vote, Gudmundsson topped the poll with 23%, narrowly ahead of Ethan Ampadu (20%). Anton Stach finished third with 13%, while Joe Rodon placed fourth on 12%.
