I’m a fan of the Cleveland Browns (American football) and their old coach Kevin Stefanski would do something similar where the team would lose in embarrassing fashion or the team would choke away a lead late, then his post game presser would be him saying “We gotta be better” in as many different ways possible. The next game nothing about his gameplan would chance and we’d get a similar result. It infuriated fans. He was finally fired after this last season.
