Chelsea signed Pedro in a deal worth up to £60m from the Seagulls and he made an immediate impact at the Club World Cup.

The Brazilian scored in both the semi final and final, and carried that form into the start of the Premier League season.

However, towards the end of Enzo Maresca’s time in charge Pedro went through a dip in form and the goals dried up.

Pedro has scored 14 league goals this season, and is just one away from hitting 20 goals in all competitions, which would be a great achievement for his debut campaign.

“I think the expectations from me were high, so I try to keep my mentality always forward to help my team-mates.

“If I don’t score in one game, Reece [James] and my team-mates come to me and say, ‘Joao, you’ve got to score in the next one!’. I’ll try to keep my stats as high as possible.”

Chelsea are believed to be closing in on a deal for Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco, who’s reportedly agreed a six year contract.
