      We really really missed Merino over the last few months.

      Id even argue his ability to come up with crucial G/A is a big reason were out of two cups and not even further ahead of city in the title race

      We really miss him. Even if I’m not smart enough to tell exactly what it is he gives us it’s obvious when he’s not there.

      Missing Uncle Merino 🥲 – I really chastised that transfer when it first happened and now I miss him – fingers crossed he comes back soon!

      We really need these guys back, obviously we have incredible depth but it feels like it’s been a mirage at some points this season.

      So there’s no space in the midfield for a midfielder and Merino, looking for minutes, runs into a cousin of his who says I got this super shady friend, but he can make things happen, like behind the scenes. Merino takes him up on the offer and that shady friend turns out to be the devil himself. So the devil says what’s your need. Mikel says let’s make a deal so I get to play, but I want to score with the best players in the world. I could become a striker, maybe a false 9. Devil says I got a guy who needs a foot. So you got it, but that’s the price. You get 33 games, top level, lots of goals. But I need that foot after. Then, you rehab and see if that’s good enough to get you a position on your own. Done deal, says Merino, and here we are.
