Charles, 22, curled an awe-inspiring effort into the top corner from 35 yards to double Southampton’s advantage at St Mary’s.

The Northern Ireland international has been nominated alongside Swansea’s Liam Cullen, Millwall’s Luke Cundle and Watford’s Nestory Irankunda.

Cullen, having received the ball just inside Swansea’s attacking half, dinked Stoke City goalkeeper Tommy Simkin from over 40 yards out.

Cundle makes the cut for an overhead kick goal scored against Blackburn Rovers, while Irankunda is shortlisted for a rocket from the edge of the box against Stoke.

Charles’ last-minute winner against Leicester was nominated for February’s Championship Goal of the Month award, but he lost out to the Foxes’ Abdul Fatawu.

Fans are invited to vote for their favourite goal on the EFL’s website before 5pm on Monday, April 13.

Those votes will be combined with the opinions of a panel, comprising Don Goodman and David Prutton, to determine the winners.
