  1. If we are looking for a left winger, why not consider Alphonso Davies?

He has said before he’d rather play wing than full back. He has done it for Canada. He’s fast, he can dribble, he can cross.

He’s under contract until 2030 and has been linked with leaving this summer going to man u. He would be cheaper than trying to buy a british player from Villa or Newcastle too. And has a higher upside.

Win tomorrow and all will be right with the world again. 12 points ahead, pressure very much on city with a late difficult game. No more bottle narratives and I genuinely think that will be it, league will be ours.
Lose….well I wont be coming here for at least a week.

  3. With all the talk of summer transfers, who could leave, who *should* leave, what options are on the market etc, it’s easy to get distracted from the here and now. I saw someone else post something similar yesterday:

These are the good times, the times we’ve been patiently waiting for – we all gotta make sure we enjoy them. I cannot tell you excited I am for the next 7 league games: sure, they’ll be nervy and I’ll end up watching from between my hands, but boy, it feels good to be in this position!

  4. Mls leaving is a big no. I heard its between havertz and gyokeres leaving that determines whether we will go for alvarez. We all know who has to leave if it comes to that.

We need a new dlp ala vitinha like. We also need a new lw and it shouldn’t be gordon

    > Eze and Ødegaard are 27, this is their prime, we have seen their best

People don’t just suddenly become washed after hitting a certain age. Kevin de Bruyne had his prime years in 2017-2023 at the ages of 26-32.

Bournemouth are such a tricky side, and a team I’ve admired this season. Beating the leaders away from home is a challenge that Iraola would be salivating at. Nervy.

  7. Our last Prem game was a month ago! Being in 4 competitions didn’t even make me miss it that much.

Really hoping for some positive news from Mikel today on the injury front. We need all our boys back for the next 2 months.

People in England or Premier League fans in general brag way too much about how much money the teams can spend, they should be dominating in Europe if this is the case.

Most of the teams drop ridiculous money on mediocre players, like Spurs giving Gallagher 200k a week for example or all the money Chelsea spend on dross. It’s actually terrible right now it ruined champions Liverpool.

  9. Honestly, reading the comments under player rating threads always piss me off. For some reason, people think a 6 rating is too harsh on a player that played average. Not only is 6 above average (taking average as 5), usually the player didn’t even play well. On the last game thread people was complaining that øde of all people was rated too low. At a 6/10. Really?

This isn’t even an anti-ø thing. I like ø way more than most people actually. But it was an off day for him. Passes into nowhere in the final third and was otherwise invisible. If that performance doesn’t warrant like a 4.5 than I don’t know how bad a performance has to be.

Anyone expecting Bournemouth to be an easy game are in for a ride tomorrow

One concern is that we risk our squad depth next season.

Hypothetically, if Nwaneri goes, Eze has no reliable rotation. Until Ode proves otherwise, he is now injury prone. So unless we signed someone like Rogers who can play there, that would be a risk of overplaying Eze.

Likewise with MLS, Calafiori is injury prone and Hincapie can’t play all of the minutes.

We apparently want a RB/versatile fullback, linked with Livramento who is that. But he has had an ACL injury before like Timber and picked up a few this season. So we would be banking on him being fit as a backup to Timber and Hincapie when Calafiori picks up injuries.

If we get a big midfielder for someone like Norgaard that would be good, and we really only need 1 attacker unless both of our LW’s move or Kai is unexpectedly sold (Gyokeres would be a loss if we sold him).

Just seems a bit odd having 2 potentially injury prone fullbacks while removing a depth option (MLS) and relying on Odegaard to stay fit (which he hasn’t proven so far).

Not having Merino is such a spiritual miss. He’s such a likable guy and clutch player.

Rice, Zubi, Odegaard, Eze, Havertz and Saka. I just want to see this lineup at least once this season.

  14. Can anybody name a Gyok performance between 5 and 7? Just curious. I really can’t. He’s either invisible or banging in goals

AFTER WINNING THE PL this season, I much rather we keep MLS and Nwaneri and be competitive but have less expectations, instead of selling them because they’re ain’t good enough and be EXPECTED to win the PL every season.

My favourite moments throughout this Arteta PL run in the past 3 or so seasons is watching the academy kids come through.

After we do win the PL, If Josh Kroenke came out and said our goal for the next 3 years is nurturing young talent – whether that’s from the academy or who we buy, whilst also being competitive… I’ll be so happy with that.

I’m curious, does anyone else share a similar viewpoint?

  16. Who actually thinks that we’ll reinvest the MLS/Nwaneri money properly if we sold them?

  17. Last season could have been so much worse if it weren’t for MLS and Nwaneri coming through.

  18. how early should i get to the match on saturday/things i should see and do before hand?

  19. Rosslefrancais on

From all the negative talk about our attack, you would not think that we’re the top goalscorers in the league

  20. Nwaneri came in to cover for the biggest player in the team, did well, proceeded to be frozen out, shipped off to France and probably sold next. Did he shit in Teta’s cereal or something?

  21. Do you care about the whole play style thing? As it has been so long since a league title, I just want it regardless of how. The players are giving everything. I do hope though if the team get it over the line, we do see a bit more expansive football next season. Watching PSG against Liverpool was so impressive. Still if the team wins the title, it won’t be less enjoyable because of the style of play

I deleted my over 20k karma account (most of it here), and other social media consuming Arsenal and football media constantly. It’s amazing how much more of a positive vibe I get from the team as opposed to this relentless noise. We are in top position to win the UCL and EPL which if we follow through would be our greatest campaign ever. I get nervousness, apprehension, the noise from other fans and maybe even the fatalism from our fanbase (as a way of protecting themselves). But I do not get throwing players playing through injury and stress, under the bus. They’ve been nothing but exemplary.
