The point of this post is not to hate on our striker, but rather have a discussion about what could have possibly happened to him after December. I mean, hat-trick against Betis, and solid performances since the start of the season, but after the first half he became completely lost on the pitch, and wasting so many chances. Even his off-the ball movement changed and sometimes it feels like he’s skeptical about getting into the box. Until December, he was competing with Mbappe on top scorer of the league, now he’s just a ghost of what he was.. why did this happen?
Now, at this stage of the season, could he gain back his form against Espanyol and then go and help us comeback next week against Atletico Madrid?

Nothing. Just a mid player who got his 5minutes at winter.
Ferran is an inconsistent player and also a ‘hot streak’ player. That’s why Lamine and Pedri are so good – they’re consistent/always performing.
I’ve been wondering this same thing. Everyone had a different tone about him when he was putting up numbers and silencing the critics (casual Barca fans). Maybe his self confidence has taken a hit. Maybe he’s doubting himself more and being less decisive on the pitch.
Only Ferran really knows the answer, but I treat anyone talking down on any of our players while claiming to be a Barca fan just like I would a Madrid supporter. Brainless.
Confidence and lack thereof, you see it all the time.
Ferran benefited from Flick’s attacking system until his abilities could no longer let him.
This is always who he has been. Incredibly inconsistent and frustrating player.
Maybe he can hit a good run of form here to end the season, hopefully. We need it.
Nothing he will score a hatty next week and bring us the remontada
He’s just bad, don’t need to overcomplicate it.
Grew his hair. The added weight probably affected his touch and reaction times.
Jokes apart, I hope he can turn it around over the next few weeks. He is lacking confidence and maybe a goal or two can rejuvenate him.
His confidence is down in the drain. That’s the main issue. Nothing else. He can’t tap the ball in an open net with his current state of mind. If flick wants to get goals from him and make the great super sub he was, he needs to stop playing him as a starter and give him last 30, 20 minutes when the game is more or less settled. Otherwise sell him
I think numbers don’t tell the whole story – he’s always been inconsistent – he has a few games where he scores and then goes missing for a while – then scores in a few games again and then goes missing again – it’s just now, he’s not had that scoring streak for a while
He isn’t good enough for this level. It’s that simple.
He’s been saving himself for 2nd leg vs Atleti, trust.
The memes my friend. The memes.
Because for all his ‘shark’ talk, he’s a low mentality player. Big players have the ability to put themselves in that mental space where they can fire at 100% ability at will. This is what separate big time players like Lewa, Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe and the mid tiers
That’s the difference between a top player like Mbappé and a good super sub like Ferran. Mbappé and other players on his tier can sustain those numbers over several seasons, someone like Ferran can’t.
his purple patch evaporated into thin air thats all, law of averages🤷
That the normal Ferran tho
Bro needs a haircut and some confidence
Time to sell him along with Araujo captain my a**
