    **From the article:**

**United are strongly interested in Rogers who was signed by their current interim head coach Michael Carrick for £1.5m from Manchester City in February 2024. Although he stayed for only six months Rogers established a strong relationship with Carrick, who is looking increasingly likely to get the United job on a long-term basis.**

Last month, before facing Villa, Carrick said of Rogers: “You could always see what he was possibly going to be capable of and the potential in terms of his attributes, the way he carries the ball, he can play off his left foot, play off his right foot, create and score goals and really good athletically, so there were a lot of things there when we took him [at Middlesbrough] to start with…he is a good person, great to work with so I am delighted he has done so well.”

**Rogers is also known to, and admired by, United’s director of football Jason Wilcox who was City’s academy director and helped bring the attacking midfielder through the ranks at the club, having bought him from West Bromwich Albion as a 16-year-old.**

**Rogers can play as a No 10 or as a left-winger and United are considering their options in those areas**

  2. 100M for a player in a position we don’t need to strengthen. Seriously doubt this

  3. Unless Bruno leaves this makes no sense. Probably spin from his agent to increase wages.

  4. 100m??? Fuck off. He’s worth about 60 max and even then we don’t need him.

Considering we don’t have unlimited funds and need to revamp our midfield… No thanks

  6. Pass. Rogers is a good player but we’re well stocked with 10s who can play wide. If we want someone for left wing it should be someone who prefers to stay wide.

We need a proper winger not another cunha hybrid. Cunha even gives us a tactical dilemma when he doesn’t provide enough width. We need a proper winger as an alternative and a left back who can actually bomb forward

  8. Hasn’t created a single g/a in past 10 games.averages abput 1 key pass a game. I don’t see any 100 million advantage from getting him.

Not at that price point, especially when priority lies in central midfield and left back.

Good player with more to come you would hope for that price, but the timing is wrong.

Glad to be linked to quality players like this again, feels like it’s been a while when we’ve been in the conversation with the big boys

The price has literally jumped 20 million since this rumour first surfaced today

  12. Chatted to my mate (villa fan) about Rogers and we agreed that who realistically is going to buy him in the top 5?

United? He’s probably competing with Bruno or Cunha. We’re too busy looking for CMs and full backs.

Chelsea? Not shifting Palmer and their million wingers.

    City? Cherki, Doku, Semenyo

    Arsenal? Already stacked.

Liverpool? Potentially his only option as he’s probably an upgrade on most of their LW/10s.

Not exactly going to be a bidding war for him.

Why are people suggesting we’re not after a LW/#10 hybrid type player when our latest target was literally Semenyo in January?
