With the atmosphere building, there are many pubs ready and raring to welcome Ipswich fans for the away leg of the East Anglian Derby.

Here are five pubs to visit to watch the game.

Thomas Wolsey

A short walk from the Portman Road Stadium is the Thomas Wolsey pub, which calls themselves the “home of the home fans”.

Ahead of Town’s return to the Championship, the Wolsey built a new bar on the first floor, extended their opening times, and added a new “speedy food offering” from Mylo’s Pizza.

The creates the perfect space for people to watch the game on Saturday, while enjoying some food and a few drinks.

The Greyhound

Another pub, which is a hit with Town fans is The Greyhound, which has plenty of space to enjoy the game.

As well as the indoor seating and bar area, there is also a large beer garden, which becomes a sea of blue on game days.

The pub often has a special food menu for game days, so make sure to check that out.

Shamrock

Where: 2 Tacket Street, Ipswich IP4 1AY

The Shamrock is another pub in Ipswich that is popular with fans, and will be showing the game from 12.30pm on Saturday.

A short walk from Portman Road, the pub is often full of fans, so get there with plenty of time to be able to watch the game.

Isaacs on the Quay

Where: 7 Wherry Quay, Ipswich IP4 1AS

With four bars, you won’t have to worry about waiting long for a drink to watch the game.

They have a selection of screens that will be showing the game for those who aren’t heading to Norwich.

There are plenty of places to visit nearby, with the waterfront currently having an observation wheel.

The Cock and Pye

Another Ipswich pub preparing for Sunday’s derby game is The Cock and Pye, which will be open throughout the day for fans.

The pub, which is one of Ipswich’s oldest, underwent a six-figure refurbishment last year, with a completely new interior, while retaining the original frontage.

And most importantly, large TVs are showing live sports, so you can be sure to catch the game.
