Everton are reportedly ‘hopeful’ of keeping Jack Grealish beyond this season, but are unlikely to trigger the £50 million option to buy in their loan deal.

Grealish, 30, made the loan switch to Merseyside from Man City last summer, and has managed to rediscover some form.

The forward is out for the rest of the Premier League season with a broken foot but managed to score two goals and provide six assists in 22 games before the injury.

According to The Athletic, Everton are keen on making the deal permanent but are unwilling to pay the £50 million option to buy.

It’s understood that David Moyes’ side will instead re-enter negotiations with Man City in order to try and lower the fee.
