The order covers three specific events: Bike Nights in Poole, and St George’s Day parades in both Poole and Christchurch.

The measures will affect roads on specific dates and times and will impact traffic and parking in the areas concerned.

In Poole, Bike Nights will take place every Tuesday from April 7 until June 30.

To accommodate these events, several roads will be closed from 4.30pm to 10pm each week.

The Quay, from Thames Street to Ballard Road, will be affected, as well as Fishermans Road, and Old Orchard, from The Quay to Strand Street.

These roads will be closed to traffic, except for motorcycles, and waiting, loading and unloading will not be permitted during the closure period.

On April 26, St George’s Day parades in both Poole and Christchurch will result in temporary closures.

In Poole, the Scouts’ parade route will see rolling road closures in place from 1.30pm to 3pm.

The affected roads include:

High Street

North Street

Lagland Street

New Orchard

Old Orchard

The Quay (Bridge House to Ballard Road)

Thames Street

Fishermans Road

Ballard Road

Ballard Close

Green Gardens

Furnell Road

Labrador Drive

Catalina Drive (from Labrador Drive to Harbourside 2 car park entrance)

Waiting, loading and unloading will be prohibited along the parade route during the closure period.

In Christchurch, the Scouts’ parade will take place on the same day, with closures affecting:

Whitehall, between Queen’s Avenue and Wick Lane

Wick Lane, between Whitehall and Church Street

Church Street, from Wick Lane eastwards

Church Lane

Quay Road, from Church Lane to the Priory entrance

As in Poole, rolling road closures will be in place to facilitate the parade and dispersal, running from 1.30pm to 3pm, and again from 4pm to 4.30pm.

Emergency vehicles and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

The council has also confirmed that event organisers are permitted to enter closed roads for the purposes of holding their events.

Updates and changes to the schedule will be notified nearer the event dates.
