According to Met Office Forecasts, April 7 was the hottest day of the year with temperatures reaching 24°C in Mona, on the island of Anglesey in Wales.

However the South Coast is not far behind as Met Forecasts for today predict temperatures could also soar to a maximum of 23°C.

Every year, the Dorset coast see’s visitors from across the UK who have travelled far and wide to make the most of its of award winning, Blue Flag beaches.

The stretch of promenade from Sandbanks to Hengistbury Head spans around 16km (10 miles) and includes Southbourne Beach, Boscombe Beach and Pier, Bournemouth Beach and Pier and, Durley Chine and Alum Chine.

However, Bournemouth’s central beach remains a huge visitor hot spot, attracting both locals and visitors in their millions due to its wide variety of beach entertainment, restaurants, children’s activities and easily accessible town centre.

According to data from BCP Council, more than ten million trips were made to Bournemouth town centre during the months of June, July and August in 2025.

On the beaches of Bournemouth today, The Bournemouth Echo spoke to visitors who had travelled from Birmingham, Blanford Forum, Bath, Essex and Kent.
