I dont want to loose augusto and dimash its not great in defense. bisseck would be a very great rotation for cb. rb i meant palestra. thurams natural role
was a right winger. also i would buy 2 midfielders who can really dribble and would be great

    No chance this works.

4-4-2 means you have a 2 man midfield against 3 men across the world. Numerical advantage in the middle of the park.

Plus 2 players that are not exactly ball winning players.

Then Thuram as a RM would mean you’re not getting much defensive contribution from him.

Dimarco is good at LWB and could also still play LB in an attacking role, but putting him as a LM means he will not be beating anyone down that side of the pitch.

442 needs very specific players to work as well. It worked for United back then because Giggs and Beckham, who had very defensive minded fullbacks. Also the men in the middle were very aggressive.

Milan also used a 442 but narrow to overload to middle of the park.

We simply don’t have players for 442, we could switch to 433 which would be better but we’re still short a winger minimum

  3. If this post was “how to devalue Thuram, Dimarco, Bastoni, Barella and Zielinski in one move” it would be a stroke of genius

I actually think there are strong similarities with a 442 and how we play the 352, but Thuram wouldn’t be a RM. Dumfries could be RB and Bastoni would be the LB. You would also need more defensively strong physical midfielders.
