he is amazing but he has 2 players in his own squad who are more likely to win ballondor. Better at club level and higher chance for WC with their country

Hes been great at bayern but he wasn’t even that good today and should be nowhere near the words ballon dor. I’m happy for him though

He’s way more clinical in that Bayern team than he ever was for us. But I think we miss his pressing intensity and off the ball work-rate a lot. He would really set the tempo up top and stretch the game for us, it’s very noticeable that we don’t have that type of forward this season.

  4. don’t forget we are talking about bundesliga stats at the team that destroys everyone, even more dominating than psg in farmers league. i would not mind to have him this season but i don’t think he’d make much difference with current style we play (if you can name it style)

  5. why did we sell him? A left winger that isn’t afraid to challenge defenders with pace is what we’re missing

  6. If a Bayern player wins Ballon D’Or, it’s gonna be either Kane or Olise, most likely Kane

He is a great player and would honestly want him over Gakpo but this is why headline stats is not the whole picture in football.

  8. Watching last match, he’s still Luis Diaz we know. Beside a goal, his final decisions were really, really bad.

Probably better than this Gakpo, but not that we have missed a gem or such.

  9. I said from the start we should never have let him go and would only realise how important he was once we did.

  10. You can understand when a club is not serious if they keep gakpo for 250k but release diaz for unwilling to go to 200k.

  11. Good stats. Now just score in the CL final and win the world cup for Colombia and it’s all yours!

  12. I said it in the summer and I’ll say it now. What a stupid decision to sell him. He was happy to stay here. We loved him.

There were sooo many here who weee giddy we sold him.

Selling Diaz was not a bad decision. Speedsters with age will be susceptible to injuries. Especially those on a bigger wage check would be the way to go.

Not replacing him or thinking Gakpo can step up to the plate is.

Judging from the recruitment practice and the age group of players we have acquired or looking at seems to point to rebuilding and reducing the wage bill, with us being at the top for the wrong reasons.

Things are looking grim or smelling like another half a B if VVD is on his last leg, Konate doesn’t find his head, Salah gone perhaps along with a few others in Jones, Elliot, Endo, Chiesa, Gakpo and Robbo if they can’t accept being squad players.

Seriously need a playing CB or 2, a tackling DM and ideally a winger like Diaz. Always loved his passion! YNWA

Lets be honest.. the Ballon dor favourite will come from the team that wins the world cup or the best player in the World Cup. Lets say the Dutch wins it and Gakpo scored 9 goals or more goal involvements, he’d be a shoo-in for the top 5 or even top 3.
