Virgil is the captain and he’s obviously seen the best and worst here, he knows when players aren’t at 100%, including himself.
Florian, will even if he’s playing badly be trying, he’s not going to half ass it but that does mean he won’t accept being told he gave up

Sadly he is showing more support for his teammates than VVD. I can’t explain what happened to VVD this season. But he certainly hasn’t been a leader. Literally pointing fingers at his teammates at times.

The most interesting thing in this clip for me is that he’s already mentioning getting better next year. Whether that’s by design or subconscious, it’s clearly something that the players are thinking about.
On the one hand it’s frustrating because we’re still in the CL. On the other, I hope it lights a fire during the shorter training camp this summer, and yet another reason why Slot should go. Fresh season, fresh start. That starts with three manager.

this sub for real. first Dom now dissing Wirtz. i really don’t think we should get angry when bright football players reacting harshly in difficult times. they probably never in this position before.
like yes, this season is fucked, yes we need a new direction, but we shouldn’t be this harsh on players whp are meant to be the future of tbis club.
