Town came from behind thanks to goals from Ben Johnson and Kasey McAteer, cancelling out Carlos Vicente’s opener to secure three points at Portman Road.
Dutch destroyer Azor Matusiwa was forced off in the first half of the clash, however. He initially went down towards the start of the match but played on after receiving treatment, though he was replaced by Anis Mehmeti with 39 minutes on the clock.
“Azor has a dead leg,” McKenna confirmed. We’ll have to see how he recovers.
“He picked it up really early in the game, which I think hampered him and hampered us, so he wasn’t able to continue.”
Striker Ivan Azon wasn’t even in the squad. The Como loanee started Ipswich’s last game, a 1-1 draw against Millwall before the international break, but didn’t make the bench against Birmingham, with George Hirst leading the line.

McKenna revealed that he also has a knock.
“He had an issue over the international break,” the manager admitted. “So not available.
“It’s an issue in his calf. Not a major one, but not available for today – and we don’t know for the games coming up yet.”
Wes Burns was due to start the game over match-winner Kasey McAteer, but a late issue kept him out, delaying his return from a calf injury.
“Again, we have to assess,” McKenna stressed. “He was pretty close to today, but then had a little setback yesterday.
“We’ll have to assess that next couple of days and see where he’s at.”
