No direct Greater Anglia trains will be running between Ipswich and Norwich on Saturday, April 11 due to planned engineering works.

Rail replacement buses will be in operation.

Martin Moran, commercial and customer services director at Greater Anglia, said: “We recognise this is an important fixture for both sets of supporters and we have been working closely with Ipswich Town Football Club and partners to ensure travel arrangements are clear, with the best possible alternative options, given the essential engineering work taking place.”

Rail replacement bus services are expected to have very limited capacity and are not designed to accommodate the high matchday demand between Ipswich and Norwich.

Journeys by rail will also take significantly longer than usual, particularly during busy periods.

Ipswich Town FC has arranged official coach travel from Portman Road and coach transfers from Postwick Park and Ride to Lower Clarence Road to support fans.

Supporters of the Blues will be able to collect tickets from one of four designated collection points.

A large police operation will be in place for the fixture, with significant numbers of officers from both Norfolk and Suffolk deployed to ensure public safety.

The operation is designed to prevent crime and disorder, minimise disruption, and assist with travel to and from the stadium.

Officers will be present in and around Carrow Road, the surrounding areas, and Norwich city centre.

Specialist units, including police horses and drones, will also be deployed.

The usual road closures will also be in place around Carrow Road before and after the match.

Away supporters will be asked to use Lower Clarence Road to reach the stadium before taking their seats in the South Stand.
