We need to thrash Atletico 3 or 4-0 at home but it will be tough when Atleti will have their full squad.

It only worked properly after bernal came on. Pedri was isolated and 3 atleti players closed him fast. Fermin was too eager to beat the offside trap and eric was not in good offensive positions to support. The red card gave pedri breathing space. Goes to show that atleti is really an elite club in terms of tactical discipline.

The only thing that will destroy Flick at Barca is the highline.His defenders are not fast enough to recover on miscued traps.Playing to the ref's whistle is giving John Garcia an overload of duties.Surely Hansi must think twice on his highline.Defenders are not able to catch failures as they continue to poorly execute offside traps.Should he do away with this tactic then his team will win matches without conceding.
I like the idea of the false 9. I'm holding my judgements of it until we see it under better circumstances. Pedri needs a proper partner it didn't look good until Bernal went in. Eric has been one of our best players this season but in the high quality matches he can't play in midfield. He doesn't get the rotations necessary to break presses like that in midfield. He plays like a CB in CM he's waiting for the turnover bracing for making a tackle. When Pedri was looking for his partner to move into an advanced position Eric wasn't there and Fermin was up the pitch. I'm curious to see it again with Frenkie/Bernal and Raphinha. Against Newcastle Camp Nou we saw Raphinha rotate into that 9 position when Lewa dropped into false 9 with Fermin running beyond. Rashford just runs up down the line
The UCL game will be different.. Alvarez & Lookman will bring a new challenge. Flick seems to be flexible tactically, he will have a solution.
Barcelona plays horribly, you struggled to win a 10 man atletico C team that was playing for nothing
It was nice to sice Olmo and Rashford alive – they runed a lot in both ways, they know that they are fighting for future in club. Rashford 2-3 times did not runed in defence after ball was lost but i can understand him because other players like Fermin did not want to pass him in some attacks. I think that F.Torres is very near transfer from Barca because he had another bad game… at least this time he had 2 shoots on target but we need someone that will score at least 1 gol from 5 chances. Maybe he have some problems with mental health after some bad games… like he lost confidence but he is still running and working a lot but that could not be enough for Flick. Lewa is 37… lost his speed and acceleration but he is still scoring goals. About the game – Simeone saved his best players for CL but players that he used played with a lot of heart and desire and Flick for me made a smart decision – he attacked 3 points because Real lost and now he is on +7 and in future he will be able to calculate for CL with players.
We must finish this game on Wednesday!!!!! In the champions league its another game and i know for sure they will do everything possible to make Lamine angry!! He can not pick that yellow card… without him and Raphinha its to much!!! Also Atletico madrid will have 3-4 players who we must sting!!! This game there are so many players with 4 yellow cards!!!
