Work to create a new crossing on a busy road in Leicester is due to start next week and is expected to take six weeks to complete.
The toucan crossing – which will allow cyclists to cross alongside pedestrians – will be installed on Aylestone Road, close to Hampshire Road and an Aldi supermarket, Leicester City Council said.
A section of Aylestone Road between the Aldi entrance and Duncan Road will be reduced to one lane, controlled by two-way traffic lights, while the work, which is due to start on Tuesday, is carried out.
The road is set to close completely on 12 April, with a signed diversion route in place via Saffron Lane, Glenhills Way and Lutterworth Road.
