3 weeks – that’s the gap between the deadlines of the last GW and this one. It feels like a lifetime ago. A lot has changed in world football over these 3 weeks.

The final spots for the World Cup were claimed as Sweden, Turkey, Czechia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, DR Congo, and Iraq secured their tickets to the tournament

This also meant Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup again, marking an unprecedented third consecutive absence

During the break, Lionel Messi officially netted his 900th career goal

But the biggest news of the break came from the FA Cup:

Liverpool received a 0-4 hammering at the hands of Man City in the FA Cup quarter-final. Salah missed a penalty, while Haaland scored a hat-trick

Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup without facing a single PL team this season. In a fortnight, Arsenal’s quadruple hopes have been slashed by 50%. This means that Arsenal won’t double in GW33 and won’t blank in GW34.

This also means the DGW33 and BGW34 fixtures are slowly but surely starting to take concrete shape. Get your chips ready, but wait till the last moment—we still have European fixtures before the FPL deadline.

As the title race reaches a fever pitch and the battle for mini-league supremacy heats up as well, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY

Danny Welbeck (£6.2m) – FWD,  Brighton – 5.2% TSB

In the last 5 GWs, among FWDs, Welbeck ranks:

1st for Goals scored

1st for BPS

1st for Bonus

1st for FPL points

2nd for Big Chances Created

2nd for Goal Involvements

3rd for Key Passes

Note the last 3 metrics — Welbeck isn’t just scoring, he’s creating too.

Highest scoring FPL Forwards over the last 5 Gameweeks:

Key Stat: Over the last 5 Gameweeks, only Bruno Fernandes has scored more FPL Points than Welbeck in the entire league.

Against one of the league’s most vulnerable defences, he is a no-brainer priority buy. At such low ownership, he is a shrewd differential as well.

And lastly, Brighton have 2 confirmed fixtures in DGW33- TOT(A), CHE(H). This one feels straightforward.

Bruno Fernandes (£10.3m) – MID, Man Utd – 44.7% TSB

Since his return in GW21, Bruno has dominated the league. Playing in his natural position under Carrick has unlocked his “God mode.” Since GW21, he is the highest-scoring player in FPL. Among midfielders, the gap is even more stark—Bruno Fernandes has scored 50% more points than the next best option in this period (MGW and Palmer).

He leads in xGI, Goal Involvements, Key Passes, Big Chances Created, xA, Assists, xPts, BPS, Bonus, and FPL points—some of these by more than 100%.

Most Double-Digit Hauls since GW21:

Next up is Leeds at home. Daniel Farke’s men have conceded 48 goals in the league so far—only the bottom four clubs have conceded more.

With City locking horns with Chelsea and Arsenal fresh from a double cup humiliation, Bruno is not only a strong buy but also a solid captaincy candidate this week.

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD

Erling Haaland (£14.4m) – FWD, Man City – 55.0% TSB

Haaland was, is, and always will be a HOLD—especially when the other premium, Salah, is misfiring. In 8 GWs, Haaland has dropped £0.7m in price, but I haven’t considered panicking for a minute.

And we all saw what he can do on his day—a hat-trick against reigning champions Liverpool in the FA Cup is a sign of things to come. With no UCL distraction, Guardiola’s men will go all out for domestic treble glory.

Standing in his way is a Chelsea side that has conceded 10 goals since GW26—only Burnley and Spurs have conceded more. In fact, Chelsea’s last clean sheet was way back in GW22. They have just 1 win in their last 6, and 3 defeats in their last 4 games.

In their last league meeting at Stamford Bridge, Haaland scored. Given the current circumstances, I wouldn’t bet against a repeat.

Double Gameweek update: Manchester City have a Confirmed Double in GW33, a Confirmed Blank in GW34, and a Likely Double in GW36.

João Pedro (£7.8m) – FWD, Chelsea – 50.3% TSB

Pedro is the second most transferred-out forward this GW. I guess managers are frustrated by his 3 blanks in 4 GWs. Otherwise, he still looks like a solid HOLD.

Since GW22, among FWDs, Pedro ranks:

1st for Shots

1st for Shots on Target

1st for Shots in the Box

1st for Big Chances

1st for xG

1st for Goals Scored

1st for xGI

1st for Goal Involvements

1st for Assists

1st for xPts

1st for BPS

1st for Bonus

1st for FPL points

He also scored in the FA Cup on Saturday. He now faces Man City at home. Since GW20, Man City are ranked 15th in terms of clean sheets.

But the biggest factor in Pedro’s favour is his two fixtures in DGW33 – MUN(H) and BHA(A). Hold on to the Brazilian.

FPL Gameweek 32 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL

Hugo Ekitiké (£9.3m) – FWD, Liverpool – 35.3% TSB

2, 0, 0, 2, 1, 13, 2, 2, 2, 15, 2, 1, 1

Ekitiké’s numbers are far too inconsistent to justify his lofty price tag. He hasn’t even started the last two league games, and Liverpool don’t have a DGW33 to offer.

So I’ll keep it short and simple—sell the Frenchman.

Mohamed Salah (£14.0m) – MID, Liverpool – 14.1% TSB

“You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

Salah is not just a name, but an emotion.

344 points in a season

29 points against Watford in a single GW

4-time top FPL scorer

And many more such records belong to the Egyptian Pharaoh. At such levels, you naturally have a lot of fans. You’d also expect a fair share of haters—but with Salah, that’s rarely the case. He is equally respected among rival fans.

So it hurts to see a childhood hero struggle like this. His penalty miss in the FA Cup tie against Man City might feel like a symbolic end to what has otherwise been an unblemished career in English football.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

It’s time to cut down on emotions and deal with reality. Liverpool are in the doldrums, with no clarity around Slot’s stay. Salah looks a shadow of himself—and understandably so. And like I said, no DGW33 just makes the decision easier.

Give him the farewell he deserves and move on. While you are here, have a read on our tribute to Mo Salah, the Egyptian King and the FPL GOAT!
