The Boy With a Leg Named Brian arrives at Southampton’s The Joiners on May 9 and is a free exhibition by Sheffield artist Pete McKee.

Mr McKee said: “Music is a huge part of my life, and features constantly in my work.

“In fact, it was the original dream of mine to play on Top of The Pops rather than become an artist.”

The exhibition is split into four sections.

It traces Mr McKee’s early memories, the loss of his mother, and his teenage years shaped by fashion and music.

That same evening, The Everly Pregnant Brothers – of which Mr McKee is a member – will perform live.

The tour is being held in partnership with Music Venue Trust.

It aims to highlight the importance of grassroots music venues in cities across the UK.
