Chelsea have concerns over captain Reece James, who is continuing to struggle with a hamstring problem.
Trevoh Chalobah is definitely out after suffering an inkle injury against PSG, while Levi Colwill is still working his way back from an ACL.
Benoit Badiashile could be in line for a return after previously suffering an illness, while Filip Jorgesen recently went under the knife for an operation on a groin problem.
Jamie Gittens is back in training, but missed the 3-0 defeat at Everton following a setback in his hamstring rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Vale are without former Swansea City star George Byers, as well as target man Jayden Stockley.
