He’s ridiculously injury prone at this rate and I honestly think we’d be insane to keep him beyond this season. His ability has already gone down a level anyways and now he can barley stay fit with his injury problems getting progressively worse as well

He may not be as good with his feet as we need him to be or as consistent as a high-level keeper but Mama will win us 3 points atleast once, virtually on his own, in this run in because of his talent. He can get hot and be damn near impossible to beat.

Looking forward to seeing Mamardashvilli with a bit of game time behind him though rather than being thrown in.

I’m pretty certain Pep will look to exploit this in our match tomorrow. I remember them catching Kelleher off guard with a low corner kick positioned close to the near post a few seasons ago and scoring from that. It could be some set-piece trickery or tactically, they press our backline and force Giorgi to have the ball at his feet. Our defenders have to be extra vigilant tomorrow

It isn’t ideal, but this is why we have Mamardashvili and he’s a good keeper. I do worry a little when he has the ball at his feet, but injuries happen and hopefully he takes the opportunity to shine and show his worth.

Does anyone know if we have a buyback for Kelleher? Id imagine either next season is Alisson’s last or he gets sold this summer, seems to be some links to juve this summer.
Kelleher i think is the better of the two between mama and him. Either way we’ll need a top class GK this summer or next to at least provide competition for Mama and I’m not convinced he’ll be a long term number 1 unless his passing improves.

Should have just kept Kelleher. He would have got a lot of games this season. Though might have been annoyed about not playing the cup games. Then had him take over from Alisson the following season. People would say he’s below Alisson’s level. Though whatever keeper takes over Alisson, Mamadashvili or someone else won’t be as good as him. He’s like a once in a generation keeper. Kelleher was still very good.

Never seen a GK so injury prone as Ali. Such a world class player though. Although I’ve noticed a drop off in positioning, diving speed and passing.
