  1. "He would let the ball run past him but he would never receive the ball and turn." Getting the ball on the half turn is letting the ball run past you, it's just taking a slight touch to make sure you still have control of the ball and it doesn't run past you too quick. It's just body position. Of course it takes time receive the ball and then turn but the half turn is all one motion and works because of your body position prior to receiving it

  2. those magic players do the half turn. its literally wat is missing at city these days, theres no decisive play beneath the striker

  3. He doesn't gate it, he hates that bad players do it because they don't do it well lol because at Barça he absolutely loved Xavi and Iniestas and those dudes looked like matadors Turing again and again with the ball

  4. I mean, this is pretty much known even amongst ordinary football fans. Arteta also discourages it. Neville is eiter a psycho level liar, pretending not to know this or he really knows nothing about football.

  5. Pedri is probably the only current player I'd trust with doing it. Gravenberch is ok at it but its different kinda manoeuvre and his awareness is worse

  6. Using a clip of Pedri executing it to perfection doesn't really illustrate what Pep is against, which is receiving the ball unaware of surroundings/overconfident in your touch and losing possession. It'd be harder to find tbf but a clip of Pedri turning the ball over would've worked better there.

  7. Wow, playing in high level youth teams as a midfielder it was drilled into us to be good at the half turn, always keep ur body side on so to hear this is actually crazy to me

  8. Pep is the definition of micro managing. Who wouldnt have a comparable record given the resources hes had both in terms of funds and talent.

  9. This was mostly useful in 2010s pl before the game got so physical. Now players are almost forced to shield the ball with their body’s and then turn with it bc midfielders and defenders are so aggressive now. If you think im lying watch Ryan gravenberch and Curtis jones

  10. Load of made up bullshit πŸ˜‚.Kevin de bruyne never had that smooth feet of a david silva to do half turns. He was known for passing. On the ball he wasn't at the upper echelon of the game. As a player he is a legend, but we are not making him what he wasn't, no revisionism, his on the ball ability was always questioned for a reason, even tho he is a phenomenal passer and had tec to strike the ball. Pep never had issues with any player who did half turns from his barca, bayern to city days. Even recently, Pep praised players like gravenverch in a post match interview who is known for half turns and control in tight space. That's why he bought Reijnders who also does half turn recieve πŸ˜‚.
