Hopefully all this drama can die down now, and we can get back to focusing on and talking about football.

  2. “All I can see is that Mason seems a good lad. He paid in a strong way for what happened. He has probably here found the right environment for him, which gave him affection, and held out its hand to him. When I look at him as a person, I feel sad for what happened in his life, without getting into details. Because the person i know here is very different to the one that has been described, especially in England.”- Roberto De Zerbi on Mason Greenwood

  3. Bet this does nothing to appease those that want to remain permenantly offended.

Men discussing VAWG who want brownie points for having daughters or mums or sisters sound so fucking stupid.

“Those of you who know me well, know that [yadda yadda]. I even know/am related to a [person from minority I offended]!”

    A timeless classic.

  6. Sheesh some of the comments in here. What do you expect him to say, I’m an unredeemable person because of what I said?

If you don’t want to support him that’s your choice, but I don’t know what people were expecting

Things can be very black and white when you aren’t living in a situation.

It’s very easy to judge those involved for their decisions when you aren’t involved yourself.

I’m guessing everyone knows sometimes you have to work with uncomfortable situations or people. Good luck doing the right thing when everyone’s attention is on you and when ‘the right thing’ basically means giving up your job. I don’t see many people quit their regular jobs over something their coworker did.

This is a lot of text for basically “I don’t have anything specific to say about the matter”

  9. I was expecting something like this to come out. He’s saying all the right words. But I support the team and not necessarily the coach/manager. It may be like it was when Graham was our manager and the whole “man it the raincoat’s blue and white army”. We’ll see.

  10. Context is key, mention the specifics and show remorse rather than just say a vague sorry and expect that to be it.

    Saying that, it’s a start.

Yeah, nope. Hate, hate, hate this guy. Really didn’t want it to be true, even until the very end. Will always support this club, but as long as this guy’s coach I’m not gonna follow games as closely as I did before. I will never stand for him.

  12. Disappointingly vague and, imo, disingenuous.

Completely baffling to me how some of our fans are already so “bored” of the discourse surrounding why De Zerbi should’ve never been made our coach.

I’m personally never going to let him or anyone else forget the comments he made and how he helped legitimise Greenwood’s career again – unless of course he comes out with a better apology (which I doubt he will).

Will always be a Spurs supporter and hope the team does well, but I’ll always exclude him from any celebratory moments.

  13. Honestly a better answer than I expected. Realistically I’m not entirely sure what people expected him to say

  14. With all due respect, this is a dog piss statement. Sorry if YOU are offended by that, Bob.

Man you lot are insufferable. The man made a statement, which is more than he had to do apologized and you are still angry. I dont think anything would please this fanbase at this point

  16. Out of curiosity, do you think any of the vagueness could be down to his kinda meh english? Was this translated?

This is not a proper apology but I do wonder if something was lost somewhere

  17. Clearly they recognise there’s significant backlash with this appointment. Would love to see journos continuing to push him on it. For me to keep watching, I need a positive atmosphere around me club
