Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has launched an attack on the current state of the dressing room, claiming a breakdown in communication has left Liam Rosenior struggling to command respect.

Liam Rosenior got off to a positive start as Chelsea manager, winning eight out of his first 11 games to equal a previous record set by Thomas Tuchel.

However, things have flipped on their head. Chelsea now find themselves out of the Champions League and struggling for a top-five spot after some negative results.

Despite this, the Chelsea ownership are standing firmly behind Rosenior, stating that missing out on Champions League football won’t result in a sacking.

It’s a bold move the fact that missing out on Europe could be fatal for the futures of the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

FINAL: Who do YOU think should be Chelsea manager next season?

John Obi Mikel claims the Chelsea players are losing their trust in Liam Rosenior

After stating that Liam Rosenior was a terrible appointment from the start, Mikel is doubling down on his claim, but this time backing it up with the actions of the Chelsea players.

On the Obi One podcast, he talked his mind.

“There is no cohesion, there is no chemistry, there is no trust between Liam Rosenior and his players. I see him, and it’s like the players are not listening to him.”

It’s a true statement from Mikel. There’s a real lack of identity at times, with the players devoid of confidence and struggling for ideas at times.

With one clean sheet in the last 15 games, it’s clear that whatever Rosenior is trying to get across isn’t working for the Blues.

Malo Gusto questioned Liam Rosenior after his tactical decisions during Chelsea’s first leg loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

And now, vice-captain Enzo Fernandez has publicly hinted at a lack of identity and structure since Enzo Maresca’s exit, suggesting he regrets his departure.

With stars like Cole Palmer appearing isolated in a new system, the once-celebrated togetherness is rapidly dissolving at Stamford Bridge.
