Popped up on my YouTube recommended. Apologies for Rangers channel but I think it's the only one that will have the extended highlights.

Imagine a repeat of this at Tynecastle in May…

Memorable quote: How can you send a player off for fouling a post? – Jim Jefferies

  1. In their next game I’m pretty sure Hearts beat Celtic 1-0 at Tynecastle with a makeshift defence including an emergency loan.

The linesman is a family acquaintance. I can’t speak for him, but his brother was a big teddy bear.

I was there that day and it was ridiculous.

The red cards for supposed “dissent” were particularly harsh.

Game played out like a friendly as it seemed  even the Rangers players couldn’t believe what had happened.

  4. Pretty sure Chris Robinson (Hearts chairman at the time) ended up down near pitchside trying to tell the players to walk off the pitch in protest, with Jim Jeffries telling the players to stay on the pitch and finish the game.

    Absolutely bizarre game.

Hahaha, Gough’s reaction to the fourth red is fantastic. I remember this match but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the highlights (certainly not since) so this was hugely enjoyable.

What a mental game. This was a fun time to watch players like Gascoigne and Laudrup though. Even in this brief clip you can see how good Laudrup was.

Laudrup gets ball – laudrup hacked down. Repeat. Quality football being played though

  8. The first 2 are def reds. Persistent fouling from Bruno was just a hatchet man mouthpiece.

Weir with the bait headbutt motion.

Pointing was just a complete headloss. Ritchie, assuming his was dissent as well.

Hopefully more of this when we go there in the split.

  9. Apart from the nonsense, it’s almost surreal how far Scottish football has fallen away since then.

It goes without saying almost that a Rangers team with Gascoigne, Laudrup and Albertz (to name a few) would dogwalk this current league, but I reckon that Hearts team would be double digits ahead of everyone else right now.
