Officers were called to the game on Saturday to reports of a man being verbally abusive towards members of the public.

The man was dealt with via a community resolution for a public order offence.

Electric posted a statement relating to the incident on social media.

It said: “The club acknowledges the gravity of yesterday’s incident during the first-team fixture against Swanage Town & Herston Football Club. We understand that the police were called in relation to these events.

“We condemn such behaviour in the strongest possible terms. The player involved was making his debut, this will also be his final appearance for the club in light of these events.

“The club offers its sincere apologies to Swanage Town and Herston FC, and to the Dorset Premier League, for the incident that occurred.

“We will cooperate fully with any investigations and support any disciplinary proceedings as required.”

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 4.47pm on Saturday 28 March 2026 of a man being verbally abusive towards members of the public in the area of Days Park in Swanage.

“Officers attended and a man was located in a vehicle. Following enquiries, he was dealt with via a community resolution for a public order offence.”

The game ended 2-1 to the hosts Swanage.
