I'm quite young so I've only added more recent ones. Feel free to go back further in history.
For me, it's Martin Ødegaard. I always believed he was a pure 10 who wasn't capable of playing much deeper so I was fine with him leaving at the time because we mostly played with a DM and two CMs, but then he went to Arsenal and completely proved me wrong. I'm still kinda mad at Zidane for recalling him from Real Sociedad only to not give him any minutes, but maybe if he succeeded, Valverde wouldn't have gotten the chance to become the player he is, so I'm overall fine with how it played out.

For me it’s Marcos Llorente he had the engine, discipline, and versatility but never really got trust at Real Madrid, then leaves and suddenly looks world-class at Atlético Madrid which just makes it worse 😭
the players we chose were superior than the ones in your images
Lmao no, odegaard is not the player a certain fanbase makes him out to be, he doesn’t even make the bench
Kovacic got legitimate chances btw
Ødegaard without a doubt.
It’s definitely Martin. I still remember the hype around him and how high his ceiling was. That substitution for Cristiano felt symbolic – his left foot flashed moments of brilliance, hinting at a truly great player. It’s a shame it never fully came together with us. He had all the tools, but for one reason or another, they didn’t align during his time at the club. Perhaps Zidane saw something different during his second stint.
Eto’o probably.
Arjen Robben for me. Left after 2 years at the club mainly because he was injured a lot and because Perez needed to generate funds for the 2009 galactico spending. Feels like if he had stayed, he would’ve made that right wing spot his own.
Theo Hernandez for sure
