Work begins this summer, with lifts installed in 2027.

The Labour government is providing an emergency rescue package of £2.6 million.

Work to recruit an independent chair is underway.

The Labour government is providing this money to put local people truly in the driving seat.

A new Sure Start is coming to Bournemouth East.

This £2.5 million investment gets started soon.

The Labour government is giving young people opportunities to thrive.

It’s been a fortnight of good news after months of work behind the scenes.

To the thousands who signed my petition, and to the hundreds who shared stories of exclusion from the railways—you made this happen.

As the son of disabled parents, your stories moved me.

I stood with you in fighting against BCP’s last-minute cut because I’ve had enough of politicians making promises they won’t keep, forcing the people we love to fight for the basics.

By contrast, it’s an honour to work with Jessica Toale MP and Neil Duncan-Jordan MP, securing £60 million for our three communities.

I’ve seen their passion, promoting West Howe and Hamworthy, ensuring each receives £20 million.

Secured by Labour MPs championing our communities to a Labour government, this is the biggest one-off government investment in BCP, secured in spite of the council rather than with it.

Other investment is coming from every direction: £500 million from the NHS, £350 million from JP Morgan, £100 million from AFC Bournemouth, £50 million from Bournemouth Airport, and £28 million from Bournemouth and Poole College to name a few.

Pokesdown has always meant more to me than the lifts that will bring equality.

For years, it’s symbolised hopes raised and dashed, promises made and broken.

I promised to deliver these lifts when I stood for election.

In a recent Echo column, I said: “I make this promise to you: I will fight day and night to secure the money for a step-free Pokesdown Station.

“I will ensure those spades go into the ground this summer and Pokesdown becomes accessible to all.”

I say that because I get the importance of keeping your word and I promise again today to secure more investment for you.

Equality is coming to Pokesdown.

Sure Start is coming to Bournemouth East.

And £20 million of renewal is coming to Boscombe—a down payment on an even brighter future.
