John Barnes, Liverpool England Football Legend appears on LBC to talk about the disparity between Black Football Players 40% and Managers/Coaches 4% and indicates that highlights the continued racism in Football Management / Ownership
How does the Sub feel regarding that fact and how it could be tackled?

John Barnes said on The Overlap (paraphrasing) that we often label issues of equality as “footballing issues” as they pertain to football, such as the gap between black footballers and black coaches and white footballers & coaches, this is a societal issue.
Systemic racism, along with class, gender and sex inequality (etc), will not first be absolved in football, they should be dealt with through governmental policy, education and broad societal change.
Do I agree with John Barnes? Of course – it’s a fact.
To believe Barnes here you need to believe that owners would rather have a bad manager and all that entails than a black manager. No one is saying racism doesn’t exist but in this context it just doesn’t add up.
Interesting points. I’d be curious to see the ones he says want to get into but can’t and the reasons why. I don’t lean either way in this conversation but as always feel things get too heated and when it should be a discussion
Also what is this bloody thumbnail????
Why is that the picture they chose? They going for the ‘angry black man’ narrative? What scum.
This is dumb. Yes players are 40%, but it used to be 0% 30 years ago.
And guess what, managers aren’t 20 years old, they are 40-60 usually. So in 20 years we’ll get that 40%.
Both of them are idiots who don’t understand correlation or statistics.
