The left-back ruptured his ACL in the Blues’ final pre-season game last summer against Ligue 1 side Auxerre, which will keep him out for the entire 2025/26 campaign.
As a result, he hasn’t been named in Town’s 25-man Championship squad, allowing him to work towards a comeback ahead of next season.
McKenna has revealed that the 33-year-old is working hard and on the right track, although care is needed in order to avoid reaggravating the injury.
“Conor’s doing well,” he explained.
“He’s working a lot outside with the rehabilitation coaches, doing ball work, doing all his movements.
“It’s just building that up now at this stage of the process. It tends to be day on day off, and then you gradually build that up.
“We’ll start to introduce some contact and some opposition as it goes along, but he’s doing really well.”
