When we play against physical teams (pl) or teams who play low block(laliga), de jong and pedri are marked to hell in 1v1, so times like that someone apart from the midfield has to do the ball progression that’s when that one stat where bastoni is better comes in.
I wish people would move on from just watching graphs and determining what we need and what we don’t.

Makes no sense whatsoever to compare them. Barca plays aggressively man against man and inter plays zone defend with 3 CBS and 2 WBs.

The question is, can Bastoni adapt to Flick’s high line? It’s very demanding and uncomfortable to defenders. I bet even great defenders like Van Dijk would struggle with Flick’s tactics.. not because they’re bad, but because of how tricky the offside trap tactic is.

Part of me is excited over signing Bastoni, but I feel sad cause it would hurt Martin’s development. He’s been a revelation for us and has stepped up massively this season. I trust him more than Araujo and Eric.
