The much-loved brand, a staple of British summers since 1966, is embarking on a nationwide ‘Too Cool To Grow Up’ road trip — with Southampton confirmed as one of its key stops.
This colourful pop-up event will arrive in the city on Friday, May 29, bringing free giveaways, family-friendly activities and a dose of childhood memories.
The Southampton stop forms part of a five-day tour that begins in London before travelling through Brighton, Southampton, Bristol and Cardiff.
A second tour later in the summer will visit major cities across the Midlands and the North.
Nelly Edwards, Brand Manager for Mr Freeze, said: “Mr Freeze has been part of British summers for 60 years, and our 60th birthday felt like the perfect excuse to get out there and celebrate properly with our fans.
“The Too Cool To Grow Up tour is about meeting the people and families who grew up with Mr Freeze, sharing Freezepops, and having fun together.
“The new party pack is our way of bottling that feeling – nostalgic flavours, shared moments, and a reminder that you’re never too old to enjoy the things you loved as a child.”
At each location, Mr Freeze will host interactive pop-ups designed to bring generations together through simple summer pleasures.
Visitors can expect free Freezepops — including both classic favourites and new limited-edition flavours — alongside activities aimed at sparking fun and connection.
To mark the milestone, the brand is also launching a special ‘Party Pack’ featuring five new flavours: Banana Custard, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Marshmallow, Cherry Cola and Raspberry Ripple.
The limited-edition range will be available in major supermarkets from spring, with some samples distributed during the tour.
Rather than celebrating with a traditional advertising campaign, organisers say the focus is on engaging directly with communities — including families in Southampton — and recreating the moments that made the brand a household name.
With its mix of nostalgia and free treats, the Southampton event is expected to draw eager crowds.
