I am watching Belgium v. USA, Doku is such a talent. I am curious who most City supporters see as the better player while at City? I think I have to go with Doku at this point. I always thought Sane was an amazing talent and I was sad when he went back to Germany. But I believe he fell short of expectations there. Doku is obviously still young and his best days could well still be ahead. Hopefully Doku stays at Man City.

Doku hasn’t hit Sanes peak at City…yet
I think doku now is definitely better but sane 17-19 when he was still here was just different, and although sane had probably a better team around him he did win so much in that period. I think sane’s career wouldn’t have fallen down if he hadn’t left, but of course if your german and bayern calls you have to accept. hopefully doku hits that peak or even higher though.
Sane was miles clear
Sane definitely had a better peak but Doku still has time and I think he will reach a higher level.
Sane at his peak at City absolutely CLEARS Doku. I love Doku and think he’s one of our most impactful current players, but prime Sane was something else. Neither of them chat to sterling though, he’s our best ever winger. But between these two Sane is far better.
Sterling
Mahrez
Sane
Doku
In terms of recent and successful wingers
It’s Sane and not even really close. Just look at their output alone, Doku is close to hitting the same amount of appearances as Sane with us, but his G/A contribution is like 40% lower. Peak Sane for us was lethal.
Sane had the dribbling and end product. End of debate.
Sane was unplayable
Until Doku’s finishing levels up it’s not a convo worth having imo. Leroy was a final 3rd technician with composure for miles.
Dokus insane, reminds me of robin without the finishing
they’re like polar opposites to me I was thinking about this recently
Sane: Graceful, G/A machine, clinical (for city) inconsistent dribbling, not great in build up ultimately he was legit top 5 wingers for that period of time
Doku: Powerful, 1v1 monster almost to an unrivaled degree , can be a build up focal point & excellent ball carrier even through midfield, pedestrian g/a, but undeniably dominant, shifts the whole axis of a defense
Sane produced more, but that doesn’t mean Doku isn’t a force of nature in his own right.
Sane was just so direct. He did everything as fast and direct as possible I felt like. When he decided to take a guy on, he was looking to cut inside or outside and then just sprint.
Doku enjoys dribbling and beating his man more. Sometimes he goes back and beats him again before he moves the play on. To Doku’s credit, he seems to consistently get to the end line more often than anybody I’ve seen. He just doesn’t always produce once he gets there.
Anyone who saw prime sane in flesh know it’s him
Anyday. Genuinely wish injuries didn’t ruin him
Sane
I love Doku but I’ll take the 2017-2020 Sane over him before you can even finish your sentence lol. Peak Sane was unplayable. He had dribbles, speed, vision, long shots, tap ins, free-kicks… You name it. He had it.
Sane
I actually prefer Doku in terms of individual ability, obviously Sane has reached higher highs in terms of trophies / team performance, but Doku really has something special that even the absolute top wingers don’t have. I really hope (and believe) it all comes out the upcoming years and doesn’t turn into one of those “what could’ve been”‘s.
It’s Sane without any doubts
Just watched him torch the USMNT
