The Halfway Inn, which is located in Wareham, is said to offer guests ‘all of the charms of an olde-worlde Dorset inn’.

With some parts of the pub dating back to around 400 years ago, the pub is ‘steeped in tradition’.
It’s said that several original features remain including wattle and daub walls and flagstone floors.
It’s been reported that in 1859, the building was known as the Hixlade Head Inn and then in 1896 as the Halfway House.
It’s understood that it was purchased by Hall & Woodhouse in 1997.
Despite being under the Hall & Woodhouse name, the pub is currently managed by business partners Sam and James.

The pair took on the site in March of last year, opening their doors around April 5.
Sam mentioned that the pub was not frequently open to guests before they took it over, so they decided to change this by opening every day from 12pm until 9pm.
From opening more regularly, to providing top-tier experiences for guests, staff at the pub are keen to go over and above for their customers.
Sam said: “We are just super passionate about what we do.
“I really love the team that we have got. It’s all about the people for me.”
As well as appreciating their staff, Sam added that he’s a big fan of the pub’s location- being situated near The Blue Pool, various campsites and Corfe Castle.
He said: “I really love the location, I love being around here.”
Described as a gastropub, The Halfway Inn offers a wide range of feel-good dishes, from homemade pies and fish and chips to sea bass and pork belly dishes.
However, one of the biggest stand-outs from the pub is that roughly 90 percent of their menu is gluten free.
Sam explained that James’ partner is celiac and the difficulty of finding gluten free dishes is rarely addressed.
With drinks, the pub offers a variety of wines, soft drinks and the locally brewed Badger Beers.
With a generously sized beer garden and a children’s play park on site, it’s the perfect hidden gem.
